Laura Smith has been in the legal community for almost 20 years. She started working at a small south suburban law firm as an administrative assistant during a high school business professionals program. While obtaining her Associates Degree for Paralegal, Laura was given the opportunity to move to her first city law firm which was a insurance defense firm. During her employment Laura gained extensive knowledge on how to handle a case from start to finish which includes document production, answering discovery and trial preparation. Laura is now the owner of Adaptive Legal Services and is working with law firms and/or attorneys as a virtual paralegal and trial consultant. Laura’s trial experience is extensive as she was the hot-seat trial operator for various state Attorney Generals in the Tobacco Litigation Arbitrations and has traveled across the United States to assist them. Laura’s computer degree background has helped her learn these programs quickly. Laura is also an Illinois Accredited Paralegal through the Illinois Paralegal Association and a Certified Trial Director Trainer. Laura is also a certified Mediator.
Laura has obtained her Master's degree in Forensic Psychology. Forensic Psychology is the intersection of law and psychology.
